The National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (STATEC) published its economic projections for the upcoming year on Friday.

Statec predicts that the Luxembourg economy will slow to 2.2% of its GDP this year, as various geopolitical crises take their toll. In 2024, more growth is expected, before the economy will stabilise at around 3% for the next few years.

At an environmental level, greenhouse gas emissions are expected to increase by a further 2.3% this year and by 1.8% in 2024 before a smaller increase of 0.3% in subsequent years
