Wiltz will receive its own MRI scanner at the Centre Schlasskéier, the municipality and the Centre Hospitalier du Nord (ChdN) announced during a press conference.

The new centre, which still has to be built, will house some of the services currently provided by the St Joseph Clinic, which will specialise in geriatrics.

The MRI will be temporarily set up at the Wiltz clinic until the Centre Schlasskéier opens its doors, with the scanner expected to become operational sometime this year.

The director general of the ChdN, Paul Wirtgen, stated that the application for an MRI in Wiltz has already been submitted and that construction work for the new centre is scheduled to begin in early 2024.

The municipality aims for an opening in 2026, according to Mayor of Wiltz Fränk Arndt.
