Encouraging foreign residents to voteLeft Party in Luxembourg City launches its own campaign

RTL Today
The municipality of Luxembourg City said earlier this week that only around 7% of the capital's foreign residents have registered to vote in the upcoming municipal elections.

According to the local section of the Left Party (Déi Lénk), this is not enough, which is why it has decided to launch its own campaign to encourage foreign residents to vote.

The slogan of the new campaign is Faisons-nous entendre. En allant voter! (“Let’s make our voices heard. By voting!”). From Saturday, members of the Left Party will take to the streets to distribute flyers in four languages while also providing practical assistance with the registration process.

Non-Luxembourgish nationals account for 70% of Luxembourg City’s total population. According to the Left Party, the fact that only about 7% of them have registered to vote thus far indicates that the efforts of city officials are “insufficient.”
