The police has concluded that the body belonged to Diana M.C., a 32-year-old Portuguese woman who lived in Luxembourg for several years.
Last Thursday, the body of a young woman was found dismembered and mutilated.
To summarise the events: an assault took place in Bonnevoie on Thursday, when a young man was attacked with a knife and a female body was discovered in a building shortly thereafter. The perpetrator was arrested on the spot.
According to Confina Media, the 32-year-old victim called Diana Martins Cachapa from Coimbra (PT) had lived in Luxembourg for several years. Her 27-year-old boyfriend, who survived the knife attack despite the serious injuries, was also Portuguese.
Confina Media adds that the alleged suspect of the attacks was the owner of the home where the couple lived, and is also Portuguese. He was presented to the investigating judge on Friday morning in Luxembourg City, where he was charged with murder and attempted murder.
The examining magistrate issued a detention warrant and he was transferred to the Sanem prison.
The investigation is still ongoing, announced the prosecutor's office.
Diana's sister has already reacted to her death. "Rest in peace. I will never forget you. I can't believe what happened. You will always be with me, in my thoughts. Now you are my guardian angel," she wrote on social media.
