A 45-year-old man has been charged with murder after police discovered the body of a woman in a flat in Bonnevoie on Thursday.
Police responded to an apparent knife attack in the apartment. Upon arrival, they came across a partially dismembered and mutilated body, a spokesperson for the judicial police said on Friday afternoon.
The 32-year-old victim is understood to have had no personal relationship with the suspect. Her identity has now been determined.
A second person was also lightly injured in the attack and taken to hospital for treatment.
The perpetrator was taken in for questioning and charged with murder and attempted murder. He was transferred to Sanem prison.
No information has been released on the background of the attack, as investigations are still ongoing.
