78 years ago, the Wehrmacht launched its last attempt to push back the Allied troops and recover the strategic port of Antwerp.

An operation that ultimately failed completely on the German side, causing thousands of deaths on both fronts.

The north of the Grand Duchy, where the battles were sometimes fierce, was not spared. The fighting was concentrated around “Schumann’s Eck”, several kilometres away from the northern town of Wiltz.

At the site, a remembrance trail has been redeveloped, integrating stories from contemporary witnesses, preserved for future generations through new technology.
