The public prosecutor's office in Diekirch confirmed on Tuesday that the body parts found in Germany were those of Diana Santos, who was found dead in Mont-Saint-Martin in France.
The link to Luxembourg has been established. The human body parts found in Temmels on 1 November match the DNA taken from Diana Santos, whose body was found on 19 September in Mont-Saint-Martin.
"There is no longer any doubt that the body parts belong to the Portuguese national found dead on 19 September 2022 in Mont-Saint-Martin, who used to live in Diekirch," the Trier police wrote.
The 40-year-old Portuguese woman's remains were discovered near an old supermarket in France. Her tattoos and DNA analyses helped identify her.
"Our judicial enquiry is ongoing," said the Luxembourgish public prosecutor's office. In early October, a 48-year-old suspect was arrested by the Luxembourgish judicial police. He is accused of murder and assassination.
