Police were forced to revoke the licenses of five intoxicated drivers on Saturday night, one of whom failed to cooperate and attacked officers after being checked.
At 11.30pm, police were alerted to a reckless driver on the A1 motorway. Officers caught up with the man after he took an exit near Potaschberg. The driver, who was reportedly heavily intoxicated, behaved aggressively towards officers and attacked them. Police immobilised him and took him to an arrest cell to sober up.
Around 2.50am on Sunday, police were alerted to a hit-and-run accident in which somebody crashed into a taxi. Police caught the fugitive driver, who tested positive for alcohol and thus had their license revoked.
Police also revoked licenses for drink driving in Esch-sur-Alzette and Dudelange.
