The National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (STATEC) announced that the annual inflation rate increased from 6.8 to 6.9%. This is an increase of 0.3% compared to the previous month.

The main increase has been in the prices of petroleum products, which have risen by about 2.3% in one month. While the price of diesel increased by 6%, the cost per litre of petrol fell by about 1%. Meanwhile, heating oil prices increased by 7% in one month.

Compared to last year, the prices of petroleum products have increased by about 37% overall.

Food prices have also risen sharply in the space of a month. Fresh vegetables (+12%), eggs (+5%), and butter (+2%) all became more expensive.

It is also worth noting that airline ticket prices dropped by a third in September.
