Following the initial announcement on Thursday, it has now been confirmed that six cardiologists will resign from Centre Hospitalier du Nord.

This was confirmed by the cardiologists themselves in a statement released on Tuesday afternoon.

In the statement by the Cardiological Group Ettelbruck, the medical professionals announce that they will resign from the Centre Hospitalier du Nord on 1 January 2023.

According to the cardiologists, this "well-considered" step was inevitable. Following the resignation of two cardiologists at the hospital, the remaining doctors are no longer able to deliver the appropriate medical quality at both the hospital and their respective surgeries, the statement says.

Last week, CHdN director general Paul Wirtgen confirmed to RTL that six cardiologists wanted to terminate their contracts at the Ettelbruck-based hospital.
