In conversation with Paperjam, Luxair CEO Gilles Feith explained that like so many other European airlines, Luxair is struggling with the current state of affairs.
Feith expressed concerns over the financial situation of the airline, which is still in the red, as well as the nearing end of the collective contract fixing the salaries of Luxair employees, scheduled to expire in 2023.

Staff members are required to show high levels of flexibility and commitment during their regular shifts and even more so during the ongoing holiday season, noted Feith.
He admitted that the airline is struggling to recruit new employees and drew attention to the fact that the benefits of the Luxembourgish social model no longer seem enough to attract foreign employees.
Feith concluded by saying that Luxair will face new challenges after the summer holidays and expressed hopes that a collective national response will help minimise the damage from inflation.
