Luxembourg's biggest annual fair, the Schueberfouer, is set to begin in one month's time...
Although the Schueberfouer is set to make its post-pandemic return this summer, it seems as though one restriction will be in place that might split opinions: opening hours will be noon until 1am on every day of the week.
It used to be the case that Fridays and Saturdays counted as so-called 'open' nights, with the fair free to operate until 2am.

Luxembourg City officials have now confirmed the rumours, noting that the universal opening hours should help level the playing field for everyone involved in the annual fair. The only exception will be food and drink stands, which may start serving clients from 11am onwards.
The Schueberfouer will begin on 19 August and last until 7 September. This year's edition promises to bring the world's biggest transportable ghost train to the Grand Duchy. Returning rides at the Schubbi '22 include Top Spin, Hangover, and Hexentanz ("Witches' Dance"). Overall, the 2022 edition will feature a record-breaking 223 attractions, stalls, and eateries.
The 2022 edition will also put a greater emphasis on environmental protection by requiring restaurants to use dishes that can be reused multiple times.
The Schueberfouer will conclude with a fireworks display on 7 September. On that day, visitors will benefit from a 50% discount on all rides. The same offer will also be in place for Family Day on 24 August.
