Construction of the railway bridge began in 2019 and the first trains are expected to cross the A3 motorway by early 2027.
The bridge extends over 200 metres in length, 19 metres in width, and 40 metres in height. The steel construction weighs 5,850 metric tonnes and will be exclusively reserved for international railway traffic.
During the weekend of 7 October, the A3 motorway will therefore be shut so that the new bridge can be installed at its designated location. The first trains are however only expected to cross the bridge once the respective railway section leading up to the construction is completed, which is scheduled for late 2026 or early 2027.
