
The concerned patient is being treated by the national service for infectious diseases at the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg. According to the ministerial statement, the patient’s health condition is well.
The statement further advises people who display symptoms to contact the infectious disease services. Monkeypox symptoms may include rashes, fever, headaches, muscle pain, backaches, swollen lymph nodes, chills, and fatigue.
According to the ministry, monkeypox is transmitted through sexual contact with an infected person or through close contact with bodily fluids, including saliva. Infected people should therefore refrain from close contacts until they have overcome the disease.
