On Wednesday, the Government Council approved a draft law envisioning a number of changes to the current coronavirus measures, including a shortening of isolation periods.

The 3G system in senior and care homes, as well as hospitals, will be dropped. However, the mask mandate in these locations remains in place. At the same time, the isolation period in case of a Covid-19 infection will be reduced from ten to seven days.

Measures affecting the Schrassig prison and detention centre will be adjusted to reflect those of the general population.

Once passed in the Chamber of Deputies, the new Covid law will be in effect until 31 October 2022.
