During the week from 18 to 24 April, 4,300 people got infected with Covid-19, which was a 20% decrease compared to the previous seven days.

Most people got the virus from family members, while a fifth of new infections reportedly took place abroad. 6% of the new cases got infected during work or leisure activities.

During the first week of school after the Easter holidays, 780 pupils tested positive for Covid-19. 400 of those cases occurred in primary schools, the rest happened on secondary level.

24 Covid patients were hospitalised, five fewer than the week before. One person was treated in the rehabilitation wing.

Over the course of last week, seven people died after having contracted Covid-19. Their average age was 91 years.

The seven-day incidence rate per 100,000 residents decreased from 850 to 670.

A total of 12,450 infected people were in isolation last week.

The country's vaccination rate for people above the age of five was close to 79%.
