A total of 2.5 billion euros have been frozen in Luxembourg as a result of sanctions against Russia.

This includes both assets held in bank accounts and securities.

The number was confirmed by the Minister for Finance Yuriko Backes in the Finance and Budget Commission at the Chamber of Deputies.

86 companies were identified in the national trade register involving 11 people on the European sanctions list.
