The European network of wind turbines, which is operated by VIASAT Europa Limited, has reportedly fallen victim to a cyber attack.
Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and Deputy Prime Minister Francois Bausch revealed the suspected cyber attack in response to a parliamentary enquiry from MP Laurent Mosar from the Christian Social People's Party (CSV).
In their response, the ministers said that wind turbines operated by Luxembourgish firm Soler were also affected in the attack, which has been ongoing since 24 February.
Nevertheless, both politicians underlined that the situation is not considered to be critical since the turbines can also be operated without the help of satellites.
