The petitions, which can be signed on the official website of the Chamber of Deputies, have until 14 April to collect the 4,500 signatures required for a parliamentary debate on the subject.
One petition proposes to change the starting time of secondary school classes from 8am to 9am. Another petitioner is in favour of a fair treatment of the status of parental assistants while a third citizen asks for free parking to be offered to home care services.
Another petition proposes the obligation to wear a reflective safety vest for all pedestrians walking in the evening in order to increase their visibility, while another petitioner calls for a ban on the sale of plastic material by canteens. One citizen advocates for the safeguarding of a guard house in Mersch, which is threatened with destruction. In the context of fuels, one petition demands a decrease of fuel prices and a second one would like to see the arrival of E85 bioethanol petrol pumps in the Grand Duchy.
In addition, one petitioner would like to see a peace festival instead of a military parade as part of the National Day festivities in 2022, while one person asks for the introduction of DAB (Digital Audio Broadcast) in Luxembourg. In the field of housing, one petitioner demands that owners be obliged to have an asbestos diagnosis carried out by a state-approved body before selling a building.
A different petition proposes the construction of a covered market in Luxembourg City to offer fruit and vegetables, but also other products from local and national production.
Finally, while the Covid-19 measures are slowly being lifted, one citizen is calling for a return to a “normal and balanced life” for children as soon as possible, both at school and in childcare facilities, in sports, cultural and leisure activities in general.
These petitions are now open for signature on the website https://www.petitions.lu/.
