Yesterday, the Luxembourg City municipal council approved the building plans for the new Michel Lucius secondary school in Kirchberg.

Construction works are expected to begin in three years time. After completion, the new campus is set to house 1,800 pupils across 46 class rooms, 40 specialised rooms, as well as eight workshops.

Since the northern side of Kirchberg will not only receive a new secondary school, but also an entire residential quarter, the tram rails are set to be expanded too so that the area is connected.

Nevertheless, the secondary school is the first project to be completed. Luxembourg City officials hope that the first classes can be held by 2028.
