RTL Today - Gallery: New pedestrian footbridge opens at central station

The new bridge now has elevator access to all six platforms.

The old footbridge that stretched across the central station was not the prettiest site, but since 12 December it has been replaced with a sleek, curved bridge, connecting the Bonnevoie and Gare district, as well as all train platforms.

Besides the staircase to platforms the bridge also has six elevators, which allow barrier-free access.

The old footbridge was perceived as being rather dark and there were occasional reports of thefts. The new bridge is modern, brighter with glass walls and has a wider walkway.
