Just under 60,000 kids in cycles 1 to 4 returned to school on Wednesday.
The first year of secondary schools go back on Thursday, with the rest following on Friday.
The mask mandate has been relaxed; pupils no longer need to wear them in class.
They can be voluntarily tested twice a week.
