The cold and rainy spring weather has not been very favourable to the development of the vegetation. Winemakers in eastern Luxembourg are talking about a delay of three to four weeks. The heavy rains have done the soil good, but now it needs sunshine and higher temperatures for the vines to develop.
The delay is not considered overly serious, however, nor is it expected to have a significant impact on the quality of this year's vintage. However, the harvest will start later this year. In 2020, it started at the end of August. In 2021, it is expected to start at the end of September.
