
The former deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice from the Greens suffered a heart attack in August 2019, after which he was hospitalised for several months. Four weeks after the incident, his party announced a reorganisation of government positions. On 11 October, Grand Duke Henri signed a mandate put forward by Prime Minister Bettel, which made Braz’ honorary discharge official.
Jean-Marie Bauler, attorney of Félix Braz, confirmed to our colleagues at RTL that two separate appeals have been filed with the respective court. The first one addresses the resignation, which Braz did not request himself. The second one goes against the civil servants’ human resources centre and is concerned with a supposed illegal and discriminatory compensation of the former deputy PM.
