
Around 150 people had gathered and were, among other things, setting off fireworks. The crowd dispersed as soon as police arrived on site.
In the same place at around 9.40pm, a person was assaulted. While the victim was not injured, the attacker managed to steal their mobile phone. After a short search, police were able to find the suspect on Boulevard Royale, together with a group of young men.
The presumed culprit tried to escape but was stopped by the officers. During the search, the man, who was evidently highly intoxicated, repeatedly insulted the officers. While the mobile phone was nowhere to be found, the man was given a fine.
On Friday afternoon, a watch was stolen in Hesperange. On the stairs leading up the Holleschbierg, a man asked the victim for the time. Before they had a chance to tell him, the culprit snatched the watch from the victim’s wrist. Near the local football field, the man then fled into the woods. The victim was not injured and filed a complaint.
Shortly after the start of the curfew, police had to intervene in rue de Muguets in Luxembourg City as a number of men had started a fight. One men was being beaten up by four others and the brawl left one person injured. The men were fined and received an additional penalty since they were outside after 11pm.
Half an hour earlier, another fight had occurred in allée Scheffer. One person, who was intoxicated, was slightly injured and received first aid from the emergency services. Following a search, police found that one of the individuals involved in the fight was carrying drugs and some cash, all of which were seized. Police were, however, unable to locate the suspect who had injured the inebriated person.
