The annual fair was supposed to start on 24 April and last until 9 May, but same as last year, the pandemic will have repercussions on the event.

Luxembourg City officials issued a statement on Monday evening to announce that, out of safety precautions, the traditional fair on Place Guillaume II will not take place this year. The same applies to the fair in Cessange.

While the "Mäertchen" is cancelled altogether, the Octave is still scheduled to take place. The motto of this year's edition will be "suddenly everything was different...!" Milly Hellers will conduct the official ceremony at Par Kordall Sainte-Barbe.

The Octave already had to be adapted to an online event in 2020. The mass was thus streamed online, while nobody was allowed to be physically present.
