On Thursday, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control published the latest data on vaccination at European level, revealing that Luxembourg's efforts are bearing fruit.
The acceleration has been clear, and Luxembourg is no longer seen as a straggler.
While it was still lagging behind its neighbours a few weeks ago, the Grand Duchy has stepped up its vaccination campaign and is now in line with the EU average.
According to the ECDC, as of Sunday 4 April, the vaccination rate had reached 16% of the adult population of Luxembourg for the first dose. At the end of February, the country was following a similar pace to the Greater Region but was still lagging behind the rest of the continent.
On the other hand, the country is still well behind for the second dose: 4.9% as of 4 April. Only four countries are slower than Luxembourg.
