Scenario three means that classes are only held in the morning, while pupils will stay at home to study remotely during the afternoon. Emails sent out by education directorates and obtained by RTL indicate that as of next Monday, the measure is set to be introduced in some primary schools.
When contacted by RTL, the Ministry of Education denied these claims and explained that the rumours were related to the elevated infection numbers in some schools before the holidays. Officials noted that in these locations, the respective child care facilities were asked to prepare for a potential scenario three.
However, at the moment the drastic measure is not considered necessary. The third scenario can be introduced nationally, regionally, or in individual schools when considered necessary.
