Luxair’s decision to slash costs and replace local Luxembourgish sparkling wine with a cheaper French alternative does not sit well with Luxembourgish winemakers.
Even though the pandemic has caused many companies to suffer, the change in bubble brand sends the wrong message, winemakers believe. On Wednesday, 50 independent producers gathered along the Moselle to protest against the move.
They call on the state and the airline to promote local and regional products, and support Luxembourgish businesses by purchasing their products.
