At around 2.20 am on early Saturday morning, two Romanian nationals tried to pay with counterfeit money at the Aire de Capellen service station. They had ordered a large quantity of cigarettes. Between a number of legitimate banknotes, there were also two fake €50 notes. The money was seized, and the culprits were fined.

About one hour earlier, police encountered five individuals at a petrol station in Rodange, who were heavily inebriated and sitting in a car. The five men were fined for violating the Covid-19 regulations and the driver of the car also had to hand over his driving licence.

Drunk drivers caused problems in other parts of the Grand Duchy as well. Two intoxicated drivers in Ettelbruck and Kaundorf respectively caused accidents. In Wormeldange, a driver stood out to police officers because of their erratic driving, while another drunk driver was pulled over in Esch-sur-Alzette because they were driving down a one-way street the wrong way.

An unknown culprit broke into a cellar located in the Grevenmacher neighbourhood “Op der Heckmill” on Thursday night. The individual rummaged through the cellar and stole three pizzas among other things.
