RTL Today
The National Institute of Statistical and Economic Studies (Statec) has released its latest report, showing that the month of November saw far more deaths in 2020 than in 2019.

530 deaths were recorded in Luxembourg in November 2020, compared with 404 the previous year.

This represents a rise of 31%, while deaths were 48% higher in comparison with 2018.

The increase in the death toll is mostly reflected among male residents.

A total of 1,621 people died between August and November 2020, Statec further noted, which is also higher than in 2019.

The institute linked the rise in deaths to the second wave of coronavirus.
