The residents of St Jean de la Croix in Luxembourg City and of the care home in Steinfort were the first ones to receive the jab. The campaign seeks to immunise the residents of 11 facilities in a first phase that is expected to be finished by 14 January. According to Carine Federspiel, the vice president of Copas, up to 90% of senior citizens have signed up to receive a vaccine.
Vaccinations are carried out by doctors and nurses working in the facilities who received special training from the mobile units launched by the Ministry of Health.
