https://www.rtl.lu/news/national/a/1640294.htmlPrime Minister Xavier Bettel and Minister of Health Paulette Lenert announced the adapted Covid-19 restrictions during a press conference on Tuesday. The reactions from the sectors of politics, culture, Horesca, and commerce vary between satisfaction and outright anger.
The opposition parties generally reiterate their criticism that government measures remain incoherent and confusing.
MP Sven Clement from the Pirate Party stated that it was difficult to communicate rules to the public, when people could not recognise the reasoning behind the different measures. The Pirate Party also criticised the continuation of the curfew, which it regards as ineffective. Clement also pointed out that if certain measures had been taken earlier, the shutdown of some industries could have been avoided altogether.
Meanwhile, MP Claude Wiseler from the Christian Social People’s Party (CSV) wonders on what data the government is basing its decisions.
Both MP Jeff Engelen from the Alternative Democratic Reform Party (adr) and MP Marc Baum from the Leftist Party (Déi Lénk) also agree that the measures are incoherent. Baum added that the new decisions did however not come as a surprise to him and his party colleagues.
