Remerschen lakesBlue algae on the rise

The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) located traces of microcystis, which can be harmful to humans. The water management office has therefore prohibited people from entering the lakes.

The critical blue algae rate of 4 µg/L has been exceeded and now lies at 10 µg/L. It is therefore prohibited to swim in the Remerschen lakes.

At the Upper Sûre Lake, the "Rommwiss" is closed off for the same reason. The remaining beaches remain open to the public, as goes for the lake in Weiswampach.
