Recently, the mayor of Rédange in France published a post on Facebook denouncing those who dumped their waste over the border, and included images of the most recent fly-tipping incident.

The mayor, Daniel Cimarelli, went on to say he had lodged a complaint with police and the perpetrators had been contacted.

Illegal disposal of waste can be subjected to fines of up to €1,500, according to a municipal order.

The perpetrators of this particular waste disposal were careless enough to leave an envelope with their address in Belvaux, Luxembourg.

Cimarelli added that he would not hesitate to contact the mayor of Sanem if the person responsible did not respond to the summons.
