The speed camera was installed in mid-July last year, but will become fully operational later this month.
The National Roads Authority launched the test phase of the camera on 13 December. Last year no fines were issued during the test phase, and all recorded details were deleted.

The speed camera calculates the average speed of all motorists over a length of 3,900 meters. The maximum speed allowed on this section is 90km/h for cars and 75km/h for lorries.

An exact launch date has not yet been officially confirmed by the ministry but a reliable source told RTL that motorists can expect the average speed camera to become fully operational during the third week of June.

The Ministry of Public Works will hold a press conference next Monday to unveil further details.
