Luxembourg City fire fighters were called out at 7.15pm to deal with the blaze.
They were supported by teams from Niederanven and Schuttrange, which meant the fire was quickly extinguished.
According to officers on site, the apartment will not be habitable for some time due to the damage caused by the fire.
