In 1986, Luxembourg was blanketed in white for the festivities at the end of the year. 33 years ago, there was travel chaos, high amounts of snowfall, and - for those staying in - a cosy atmosphere. For Christmas 2019, it looks like we'll be having a repeat of the last several years.
This year's autumn was notably warm and wet, according to meterologists. A meteorologist from KachelmannWetter explained that air flows coming in from the Atlantic have been far too mild to lead to snowy weather over Christmas.
The weather will remain unpredictable until Christmas Eve, and temperatures will fluctuate between 4 and 7 degrees Celsius. It also appears unlikely that the nights will be beset by frost.
Statistics suggest that every ninth Christmas in Luxembourg is a white one.
