Unconfirmed reports suggest the deputy Prime Minister could step down from his roles in government as early as February 2020.
Online platform Reporter.lu published the story on Tuesday morning.
However, Schneider has not yet confirmed his official leaving date. The Minister of the Economy and Health is expected to make a decision in January, after he said in October that he would not be completing his mandate due to his personal philosophy of not being a government minister for longer than ten years.
According to Reporter's sources, Schneider is planning to work in the private sector as a director for ArcelorMittal, starting in spring 2020.
