"Let them manage"Seemingly racist flyers and placards stir controversy in Luxembourg

RTL Today
A number of concerned citizens contacted RTL on Friday to complain about the flyers and placards distributed throughout the country, with what appeared to be racist messages.

The posters were spotted in Diekirch, Bonnevoie and Alzingen, inciting critical reactions from those who felt that the images presented without explanation and with an incendiary message ("Let them manage") carried obviously racist overtones.

However, the police confirmed there were no racist intentions behind the posters - on the contrary, the posters form part of a campaign run by an NGO in the fight against world hunger.

The campaign has achieved its goal of shocking the public, although it was not well received -  particularly given recent debates concerning the EU report "Being Black", in which Luxembourg did not rank very highly.
