It didn't take long for the Chi-chi's Kirchberg location to be replaced. QoSQo is set to open its doors this Monday. Our colleague from 5minutes visited the new restaurant.
Chi-chi's Tex Mex cuisine of will be replaced by Latin American restaurant QoSQo in the Kinepolis Kirchberg gallery. Just two weeks after Chi-chi's closed down, QoSQo will open its doors this Monday 14. October. The menu, which will also be in Spanish, will feature traditional dishes such as sea bream ceviche, grilled salmon, ribs, chuleton (a thick cut rib steak), and loads of lime, coriander, cumin and espelette pepper.
If you've been to Kinepolis this weekend and are wondering why QoSQo looks like it is already in business, it's because the venue has organised three invite-only tasting days.
The new restaurant is run by the same people as Chi-chi's, notably Isabelle Wagner and Frédéric Locatelli from the Happy Mex group. Locatelli, who has been working in hospitality for 33 years, says that they have been working on this new project for two years.

'We've upgraded our range and have changed all of the ingredients', says Locatelli. Whilst some dishes, such as the burritos will still be part of the menu, they have changed the recipes which will make for a new tasting experience.
Chi-chi's 80 employees will all stay at QoSQo and have completed training for the new restaurant. They will be spread between the Kirchberg and Place d'Armes locations. The latter is undergoing more significant works and is due to open its doors towards the end of this year.
Locatelli confirms they signed for nine years and are ready for a new start.
