One of the projects agreed at the government council was the issue of time off work to look after dependants.

For children aged between 13 and 18 in hospital, the amount of time off for parents will increase to 5 days. However, both parents must take time off separately.

The government also passed a motion to make university studies more accessible to children of cross-border workers by offering financial aid.

The criteria required will be relaxed, based on the parent’s employment in Luxembourg and the student’s education in the Grand Duchy.
