The youth hostel in Esch is located right next to the train station, making it easily accessible on public transport. The hostel's managers have created an interesting concept - not only can guests use the hostel as a place to sleep for the night, it also has conference and seminar facilities, and organises various activities.
The red building is also just a few steps away from the city centre and due to the numerous bus stops and the train station, all of which are in the immediate area, the lack of public parking spaces in Esch is not an issue.
For the hostel staff, it was especially important to create something unique, rather than just a place to stay, which is why they invested in special equipment. Whilst cleanliness and comfort are of utmost importance, the hostel also focuses on offering activities with partners from the area. On top of the 36 dorm rooms, the first floor houses several conference rooms. There is also a bar and a restaurant.
A night's stay costs €26, including breakfast. To this day, the hostel counts roughly 16,000 stays in 2019, and 24,000 in 2018. It is usually booked by tourists, sports clubs and schools, or professionals who are in the area for a few days.
There are currently nine youth hostels in the Grand Duchy.
