Troisvierges-Luxembourg City line€70 million to be invested in northern railway line, CFL trains to be fitted with wifi

RTL Today
Minister for Mobility and Public Works François Bausch revealed that improvement works will take place on the Troisvierges-Luxembourg City railway line, at a cost of €70 million.

Responding to a parliamentary question by Pirate Party MP Marc Goergen, Bausch said that the government would invest around €70 million into improving the northbound railway line. Notably this will cover the modernisation of different train stations and the construction of a park-and-ride car park in Troisvierges.

The minister was less certain in confirming the duration of the works, explaining that a part of the route travels on single tracks. It would take some time to modernise this part of the railway and upgrade tracks.

Additionally, a part of the CFL’s fleet will be fitted with wireless internet. However, connections will depend on the quality of the mobile data network.
