A 63-year-old woman who lived in Luxembourg died on Sunday afternoon after jumping to her death at the Anticlinal de Durbuy hill in Belgium, close to the local Christmas market, according to the public prosecutor’s office in Luxembourg.
Her body was found in a water basin about 40m below the cliff. Several people witnessed the scene after going up onto the rock to look down at the Christmas market. The woman allegedly walked off the path, placed her purse to the side, and jumped with her arms spread out.
The Luxembourg prosecutor’s office said on Monday morning that the case is being treated as a suicide, with no indication of third-party involvement, and that the body has been returned to the family.
