According to police reports, a 35-year-old motorist lost control over his vehicle for unexplained reasons at around 12.30pm on Monday. Travelling on the N8 between Reckange and Brouch, his car veered into oncoming traffic and collided with another car and finally a bus.
Despite paramedics administering emergency treatment, the driver died of his injuries at the scene.
The driver of the second car, the bus driver and four bus passengers were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Police and forensics were charged with investigating the incident. The road was closed for several hours following the collision.
