Order of Architects and Engineers252 locations included in latest edition of architecture guide

RTL Today
The Order of Architects and Engineers (OAI) first published its guide on contemporary architecture in 2010. The book is regularly updated and for a fourth time, architectural companies were asked to send in propositions.

The committee chose 252 out of 354 proposals, which were then divided into 14 tours based on geographical location.

Not only famous buildings have been included in the guide, but also some single-family homes, explains OAI director Pierre Hurt: “Every citizen here in the country is an actor in the construction culture. That is often forgotten and that is why we are happy that the selection committee also shines a light on private builders.”

There are also buildings that are so famous and important for Luxembourg that they simply have to be included, such as the Philharmonie or the national library. OAI spokesperson Jean-Claude Welter notes: “Prominent projects return every time, which is why the book becomes thicker with every new edition.”

People can get the guide directly from the OAI, at tourism offices, museums, or online via architectour.lu. The site also shows the list of buildings that did not make it into the latest edition of the guide.
