Luxembourg City22.000 euros' worth of alcohol stolen from a restaurant

Three burglars have been arrested after they broke into a restaurant in the capital and stole thousands of euros' worth of alcohol, say police.

The theft was reported to police on Tuesday morning. The perpetrators gained access to the premises on Rue de Strasbourg, stealing a number of alcohol bottles to the value of €22,000. Police were able to identify the suspects during the subsequent investigation and arrested them after a search operation.

On Thursday afternoon, officers were called to a building site in Sanem, where thieves had broken into four workvans and stolen a selection of tools.

On Wednesday evening, burglars gained access to a residence in Itzig, breaking a window and searching a number of rooms in the process. An investigation has been launched.

Elsewhere, police stopped three intoxicated motorists for drink driving overnight, confiscating three licences in Pétange, Ettelbruck and Rambrouch.
