The German police have launched a call for witnesses following an attack on a Luxembourger in Koblenz.

The 21-year-old was verbally and physically attacked in Koblenz on Friday at 3.15pm. At this time the man was at the station on platform 3/4, used for trains heading north. As the IC 2026 train from Mainz to Koblenz stopped at the platform, unknown individuals attacked the Luxembourgish man.

One of the punches broke the victim's nose. He was then spat on, insulted, and threatened by a further 10 to 12 people. Afterwards, one of the men punched him again.

The Trier police have launched an inquiry and are seeking witnesses. Anybody with any information should contact the police at either 0049-651 - 43678-0 or at the free service number 0049-800 - 6 888 000.
