Coronavirus20 cafés and restaurants fined for breaking hygiene regulations

RTL Today
Police carried out more than 180 checks around the country between 20-26 July, in new efforts to contain the spread of the virus.

The primary objective of these patrols was to ensure establishments were correctly observing hygiene measures and opening hours.

In total, police issued 23 fines, 20 of which applied to cafés and restaurants in Dudelange, Differdange, Esch-sur-Alzette and Luxembourg City.

Two people were fined for not wearing masks where required, and a third for breaking isolation rules.

The checks are set to continue, with the police issuing a reminder that the virus can only be contained if the public help to observe the laws in place and practise a certain amount of personal responsibility.
